Your gallery is the next step after the shoot
01.The shoot is over, but there is still an important part to come: looking through the photographs and deciding which ones mean the most to you. I would rather make that enjoyable than send you an unwieldy attachment or a folder in which you have to navigate by file names alone.
That is what I use PicSnap for. A gallery link shared by me brings the prepared images together in one place. You can browse on your phone or take your time with the details on a larger screen. I let you know how to access the gallery and which options are enabled for your shoot.
A selection gallery is not necessarily the finished series. At first, it helps us decide which photographs should be edited. When I share it, I explain what you are looking at and what the next step will be.
Favourites instead of a collection of screenshots
02.When you like a photograph, you can mark it as a favourite in the gallery. Your selection stays attached to the actual images. That makes things easier for you and clearer for me than a message about “the third photo from yesterday, but not the one in the other light”.
You can compare photographs and think the selection over in your own time. Depending on the features I have enabled for the gallery, comments or ratings may be available too. A note about a particular image then stays where I need it when I continue working.
The number of images you choose and the editing included depend on our agreement. The gallery keeps that exchange organised; it does not replace a conversation. If you find it hard to decide, you can of course still send me a message.
Download your finished photographs
03.Once the agreed editing is complete, I release the finished photographs to you. You receive the download details and can save the files in the quality made available for your shoot. It gives us a clear handover after the selection stage, without having to search through different conversations.
Download your finished images to a device of your own and keep a second copy somewhere else as well. The gallery makes delivery convenient; your personal archive should have its own copy. We discuss how long gallery access will be available as part of your shoot.
Access to a client gallery and publication on my website are separate things. A gallery link does not automatically turn your photographs into a public portfolio entry. If you have questions about access or how the images will be used, we talk them through personally.
Particularly with a TFP photoshoot, delivery is only one part of the arrangement. Where you may publish the images or whether you can pass them on is agreed in the shooting contract, separately from gallery access.
Why I use PicSnap
04.After a shoot, I would rather spend my time choosing and editing images than gathering feedback from scattered messages. PicSnap helps because the gallery, favourites and comments stay connected to the photographs.
For you, that mainly means less back and forth: you can see which image we are discussing, mark your favourites directly and follow a clear route to the final files. As a photographer and software developer, that practical benefit matters to me. The technology should make choosing your photographs easier without becoming another thing you have to think about.
If your first session is still ahead of you, your photoshoot in Dresden explains the whole process. You can also explore the platform itself on PicSnap.de, whether or not you are planning a shoot with me.
